Scott McGowan is a Scottish novelist, living in the Highlands of Scotland. He began writing in the mid-nineties, under the tutelage of his highschool english teacher, Mrs Boyle and has continued to develop his craft ever since. His first novel was a modern-day fantasy, The Curse of the Anti-Santa, which took him three years to complete and he gives no apologies for that.
Afterwards, he got into the swing of things, writing three epic fantasy books over the next five years, entitled, Bjorn & Bread, Bjorn Free and Bjorn Again.
Taking a break from novel writing for a short time, Scott decided to write a collection of short stories and poems, Short Stories & Allegories, which come under a number of different genres (now discontinued). This, he was able to do because he was self-publishing and didn't have a mainstream publisher to convince him otherwise.
Later, an idea came to him for a women's fiction novel, lovingly called The Guild Rally, which has been well received by all who have read it. This pleased him a great deal and is planning a second in this series, entitled, The Midwife Crisis.
He has recently published three more books. The first is a crime novel, set in Kilmarnock, entitled County Lines. The second is a collection of short stories (and one poem), entitled Literary Eclecticism. The third is called, Thine Own Self and is a dark, low fantasy, set in Germany's Black Forest.
Two more novels are also underway, when Scott has the time to finish them. There is Beneath the Blade which is a sequel to County Lines, and The Black Cairn Letters which is a modern Scottish gothic.
Scott is also working on his fivevolume project, compiling a Complete Theogony of the Ancient Greek Pantheon in the prose form. This is a genealogical encyclopaedic of all known Greek gods and goddesses, beginning with the Great Void and flowing down through the generations until he either runs out of gods or runs out of life, whichever comes first.
